The Baptists and the American Civil War: In Their Own Words website is produced by Bruce Gourley, executive director of the Baptist History & Heritage Society, to coincide with the 150th anniversary of the American Civil War. The site is an offshoot of Bruce’s research for his upcoming book (Diverging Loyalties: Baptists in Middle Georgia During the American Civil War, due in 2011 from Mercer University Press), and is provided freely to the general public.
Organizations, businesses and individuals are invited to become sponsors of this public-service site.* Sponsors’ logos with links will be included on the right-hand side of each page of this site, and sponsors’ names and text links will be included on this page. The logos and links will remain on this site throughout the four year commemoration of the Civil War and following, unless and until the sponsor requests removal.
